Thieves stole a lecturer's car and took a bag of coursework from the back seat before writing off the vehicle and dumping it in Malvern.
The green Metro, found in Madresfield Road last Friday, belonged to Sue Williams, from Worcester College of technology.
Ms Williams had taken coursework home to mark when the car was stolen from her home in Worcester, between 12.30am and 9am on Thursday.
The missing coursework was a term's worth of work belonging to five life skills students, some of whom have learning disabilities.
The folders were in a cream, canvas bag with leather handles and blue and green embroidery.
College principal Chris Morecroft said: "It's very upsetting for Sue to have her car stolen and we're also very concerned that the loss of this work will upset and affect our students."
Anyone with information about the incident should contact the police on 08457 444888, quoting reference 255S/171204.
