A LITTLE girl's wish was granted when Father Christmas returned from holiday to the window of Colwall Post Office.

Alice Locker, aged two, was delighted when sub-postmaster Ron Wills and his wife Gillian put up the singing, dancing figure in the window last year and devastated when he was taken down.

While Alice waited for Santa to come back, Mr and Mrs Wills arranged for him to send her postcards from different holiday destinations.

When he returned to the window for this year's Christmas display, Alice was overjoyed.

Her mum Lynsey said: "We had to walk past every day to see if Santa was back and when he was, it was like Christmas day for Alice. She loves him."

This year Alice and several other children in Colwall have written to the post office Santa with their Christmas list and have received a reply and a poster to put up in their windows.

Mr Wills said Alice was the post office's "number one little girl".

Alice said she hoped Santa would bring her ballet shoes and a lollipop.
