WEST Malvern progressed into the semi-final of the Martley Cup for the fourth year running with a convincing 3-0 win over local rivals Koinonia.

WEST MALVERN 3, KOINONIA 0

West Malvern had the better of the first half creating numerous chances but Lee Tracey, Graeme Maclennan and Dougie Hawes all failed to score when placed well.

With Anthony Hooper playing wide on the right running the defence ragged the West should have made the most of the chances they created.

They finally broke the deadlock in the 50th minute when a clever ball completely fooled the Koinonia defence and Graeme Maclennan beat the keeper with ease to continue his good scoring run.

After 65 minutes they were two in front, this time Ken McEwan cleverly lobbed the ball over the defence's heads and Dougie Hawes ran on to score.

In the 84th minute they wrapped the game when Lee Tracey converted after good work by David Kelm.

This was one of the West's better performances with the defence performing well and the forwards beginning to take some of the chances made.

West Malvern, who are sponsored by the Cross Keys and Amey, are without a fixture until January 8 when they travel to play Inkberrow. Players meet 12.30pm Eurohaus or 1.30pm at the Inkberrow ground.
