RADAR started well last Sunday at Victoria Park with Mark Brookes scoring from close range following a great right wing cross from Simon Clark after just 11 minutes, but their performance went downhill for the next hour.

MALVERN RADAR 3, AFC SEVERNSIDE 5

Severnside certainly played some nice football and soon equalised when Gareth McCartney scored with a nice volley from the edge of the area.

It was soon 2-1 to the visitors when Toby Veale rose to head in from six yards.

Radar were struggling to create any real chances and when Dan Freeth added goals either side of half time, Radar's day was just about complete when Clive Churchill sliced the ball into his own net to make it 5-1 with about 20 minutes left.

Radar made a couple of token changes in the line up and sub Steve Harness was soon into action picking out Lee Hooper with a superb cross and he headed in past Steve Speer in the Severnside goal.

Mark Brookes then added a third for Radar with another header and all of a sudden Radar were back in the game.

In spite of Hooper's great enthusiasm and effort the pressure didn't pay off, the closest they came to scoring was when Matt Brookes' shot hit the bar and rebounded to safety.

Radar's next game is on January 2 with another home game against Claines. Players to meet 9.45am at Victoria Park.
