A MODERN retelling of the nativity story - involving mobile phones, computers and McDonalds - was greeted with smiles from parents in Wolverley.
The production of Follow That Star, by the Sebright Cygnets Nursery, based at Wolverley Sebright First School, was a resounding success, said manager Pat Thackery.
The tale began with Joseph, known as Jo, calling the Angel Gabby on his mobile phone to tell her Mary had given birth.
The good news was then relayed through text messages and e-mails as the story took in locations as diverse as McDonalds and a disco.
Mrs Thackery wrote the production with colleague, Diane Perks.
She said: "The idea was to make it a little bit more meaningful to the children. It is something they can relate to. They, perhaps, would be in McDonalds or at a disco."
"The parents loved it, especially when we told them to turn their mobile phones off."
