FOUR Worcester Sixth Form College students will join a 60-strong party to tour New Zealand for 17 days from late June.

British Colleges Sport have organised a boys' rugby team alongside girls' hockey and netball squads.

Worcester's Jess Denton and Jackie Russell have been selected from across England and Wales in the netball and hockey respectively.

Luke Langham and Chris Ridgers join the rugby side with each student expected to play four matches during their stay.

Meanwhile, the college's Tom Killigrew won the boys' event at the West Midlands British College Sport cross country contest at Malvern College.

Killigrew clocked 21 minutes 47 seconds and will now represent the region in the national finals at Loughborough in April.

Fellow student Sarah Waldron won the girls' race in 13 minutes 37 seconds with Laura Moran third and Clare Moran fourth.

The college's girls will represent the West Midlands as a team at the national finals.

Waldron has also won the West Mercia Cross Country League title and Ruth Pearson was third overall, while the girls won the team accolade for the second year running.
