INVESTIGATIONS are continuing into a fracas at the Evesham Mayor's Ball.
Police are still investigating allegations of assault brought against the Mayor of Worcester's chauffeur Steve Baker by Evesham town councillor Paul Rencher
Cllr Rencher attended the Ball on December 04 without a ticket and during the evening there was an altercation with the chauffeur, which led to the complaint by Mr Rencher. The Mayor Worcester, Allah Ditta also put in a complaint to the Standards Board of England about Cllr Rencher's conduct which he claimed was abusive. Evesham's beat manager, PC Paul Adams confirmed investigations were still ongoing. Press officer for the Board, Rebecca Jones said: "No investigation into Cllr Rencher's conduct is under way at the moment. We receive complaints but it takes a few weeks before we decide whether to conduct an investigation."
More than 150 dignitaries from all over the county attended the Ball at Evesham's Public Hall who raised about £3,500 for Shopmobility and DART, the charity for disabled anglers.
The Mayor, Andrew Dyke said: "Everyone was very generous from those who attended to those who donated the 200 prizes. An auction raised more than £1,000 alone."
