ORGANISERS of the first Studley Christmas Fair were overwhelmed by its success.

Hundreds of people turned up to Studley Village Hall - so many, in fact, that not everybody could get inside.

Parish council clerk Dot Mitchell said: "It was a huge success.

"We had loads of people and plenty of stalls.

"There was a Father Christmas and grotto, which proved popular and youngsters from St Mary's Catholic School and Studley Infants School also performed, as did Alcester Victoria Silver Band."

Mrs Mitchell added: "It was the first year we've run anything like this so there were one or two teething troubles - but I'm sure we'll run it again next year."
