A GIANT turkey that could feed more than 100 people has been sold for a massive £1,700.
The 74lb bird, which will take more than 24 hours to cook and is too big for a domestic oven, was the subject of a fierce bidding war.
The bird was reared by Donside Turkeys, based in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, and was sold to George Ross, of local bakers GJ Ross.
Following the auction, breeder David Gall said: "The big bird went for an amazing price. I have no idea what Mr Ross plans to do with it, but the auction certainly exceeded all our expectations."
