WARWICKSHIRE police are appealing for help to trace a man wanted in connection with a series of burglaries in the county, including ones in Haselor and Welford.

They want to question him about more than 100 burglaries at isolated houses in south Warwickshire, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Wiltshire.

Peter Sonny O'Halloran, pictured, also known as Peter Sonny Noon, escaped from Ford open prison in West Sussex in February where he was serving a sentence for house burglaries committed in the south of the country. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

Detectives believe the person responsible for the recent burglaries may be staying in guest houses.

He is described as white, 5ft 10in tall with green eyes and short wavy brown hair. He has scars on his right forearm.

Stratford police are investigating 25 burglaries which have happened in the past month. In each incident a rear window was forced. Most have occurred in the late afternoon twilight hours and property stolen has included cameras, antiques, jewellery, cash and silverware.

Anyone with information can call police on 01926 415000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
