A POPULAR school secretary who pupils and staff always turn to for help is retiring after more than 25 years in the same role.
Jen Turner has seen Mount Carmel First School in Webheath triple in size since she began as school secretary.
Headteacher of the Downsell Road school, Tony Tamburro, said it was more than just a job for Mrs Turner and it had been a big part of her life.
He said: "She puts herself out to help me and she is someone the children and adults always turn to.
"She sorts out any problems - as well as all the work she does to keep the school ticking over. She will be missed by everybody."
But Mrs Turner, whose grandchild starts at the school next year, will still pop in regularly to help out.
