A schoolboy was critically injured after he was struck by a van in Alvechurch.
The white Ford Transit collided with the 14 year old after he stepped off a school bus at about 4.20pm last Tuesday.
The accident happened near the junction of Birmingham Road and Rectory Road.
A police officer has been questioning children who witnessed the incident from the school bus.
The boy was taken to Alexandra Hospital but was moved on Thursday to the Intensive Care Unit at Birmingham Children's Hospital.
Police are appealing for witnesses to call Pc Rob Thomas on 08457 444 888.
