A PRISON near Bromsgrove was the setting for a fiercely contested battle - but fortunately it was for charity.
Inmates and gym staff at Blakenhurst Prison, Tardebigge, went head to head in a triathlon in aid of the Primrose Hospice, which cares for ill and terminally ill people.
The inmates eventually won the contest, which included a 20-mile run, a 35,000-metre row and a step machine event. The competitors raised £200 for the charity and it is hoped the challenge will be repeated in the future.
