Coventry Marconi 1 Barnt Green Spartak 1
UNDER strength Spartak proved to be more than a match for title chasing Coventry Marconi in the Midland Combination Premier Division on Saturday.
Despite being without first team regulars Rodalph Richards, Nasir Hanif, Marvin Gorman, Chris Hanson and Kieron Holland, Spartak more than matched their Warwickshire rivals.
Striker Anthony Taylor almost gave Spartak the lead in the first half when he crashed Delroy Francis' corner off the bar.
Taylor had given Spartak the lead in the 55th minute with an 18-yard drive.
However, league top scorer Chris Partridge earned his side a point with a smart 59th minute strike.
Spartak are set to play Bromsgropve Rovers Reserves in the Worcestershire Senior Urn semi-finals after the Victoria Ground side defeated Worcester City's second string 3-0 on December 14.
