Fairfield Villa 1 Knowle 6

VILLA'S hopes of maintaining their revival came to an end against a powerful Knowle side on Saturday.

Fairfield's hopes of making it three wins in a row were ended by Knowle, who scored three goals in each half.

Villa never recovered from Mark Robinson grabbing Knowle's opening goal in the fifth minute. Goalkeeper Dave White was then beaten by Andy Williams and Paul Harver, as Villa went 3-0 down by half time.

Villa were unable to launch any kind of fight back after the break and Richard Batchelor and Jason Hall punished them further with goals.

Manager Neil Gallagher lead by example when he pulled a goal back in the 68th minute, but Batchelor hit the back of the net two minutes later.

Gallagher said: "We'd been playing quite well before this game, so we have to remember that.

"We'll have to show some mental strength to get to our previous form."

Kenilworth Town 1 Fairfield Villa 2

IN-FORM Villa took a significant step towards safety in the Midland Combination Division One by doing the double over their relegation battling Warwickshire rivals on December 15.

Goals for Leon Mooney and Dean Kavanagh in the first half ensured Villa's win.

However, the team missed a host of chances to increase their lead, before Town pulled a goal back in injury time.
