Bournville U15 15 Bromsgrove U15 17
BROMSGROVE signed off for the festive period with a hard fought win over Bournville on Sunday.
The Young Boars had to show a great deal of spirit to ensure they won their penultimate game of 2004 against a tough Birmingham side.
The Boars struggled early on against the home side, who had drafted in several older players, and conceded an early try.
Bromsgrove responded almost immediately and McGregor set up his side's equaliser when he barged his way through Bournville's defence and set up Banner to score.
Their opponents hit back again with a second try, but Bromsgrove were not to be denied.
McGregor and Whittam combined to unleash Talbot for a touch down, which he converted himself.
Hudson then put paced Bournville once again to score his second try of the game.
However, a late score by their opponents ensured Bromsgrove had to work hard to ensure the win.
The Boards end the year by playing Moseley at home on Sunday (11am start).
