Littleton 3, Kenilworth Town 1
AFTER successive league defeats, Littleton returned to winning ways with a convincing home victory last Saturday.
On a heavy pitch, the hosts dominated play for long periods and should have won by a far larger margin.
Littleton took the lead after two minutes when a free-kick from Matty Edwards was headed in from close-range by Matt Staley.
The scorer then almost doubled the advantage only to shot over after a good build-up involving Steve Brown and Ben Greenwood.
Littleton doubled their lead in the 25th minute when again it was Staley converting after good work by Greenwood.
In a rare Kenilworth attack, Brookes netted from close-range to reduce the arrears.
Littleton weren't to be denied, however, and a carbon copy of the first goal saw Littleton restore their two-goal advantage.
Staley completed his hat-trick shortly after the visitors had a player sent off for violent conduct.
The second half saw Littleton dominating play and going close on many occasions. Chris Bate and Staley both hit the bar while a powerful header from Danny Malins was narrowly wide.
The game was sponsored by T E Antiques.
Littleton are at home next Tuesday morning (11.30) to Leamington Hibernian.
