Newtown Spts 3,

Evesham Utd Robins U-9 1

THE Robins fell to their first away defeat of the season after a lacklustre performance.

It started well as they went 1-0 ahead when Jordan Izod converted a cross from Sol Sanchez.

In the second half, though, some complacent defending left a player unmarked in and he finished with aplomb.

Minutes later the game turned against United when the referee harshly ruled that Sam Cainey had bought down a Sports forward in the box and an unlucky Ben Middlicott was beaten by a powerful spot-kick.

It was all out attack from Evesham after that but they couldn't manage a second goal and they were caught on the break as the hosts clinched the points.

Evesham Utd U-12 3,

Winchcombe Tn 1

IT TOOK United ten minutes to take the lead when Dean Lee scored at the back post.

Olly Davies almost added a second with a glancing header and Alex Hill and Liam Hundley were creating the chances and it was no surprise when Ben Smith collected the ball outside the box and fired a fierce shot into the net.

Winchcombe pulled one back before half-time direct from a free- kick before Hundley carved open the defence for Ciaran Gilbert to drive in his side's third.

Worcester Rgrs 0,

Drakes Broughton U-15 6

JOHN Boother's first goal of the season celebrated his return from injury and also gave Drakes an early advantage.

Jamie Watts then bagged a hat-trick as the league leaders took control to maintain their unbeaten record in 2004.

Sam Hicks scored twice to cement a six-goal success on a day when John Bird was in fine form in midfield.

Charlton Rvrs Blues 0,

Badsey Rgrs U-15 11

A SMALL pitch that suited the visitors' style of play helped produce a big win for rampant Rangers.

Just three minutes were on the clock when Mark Magee opened the floodgates and George Lavis, who caused Blues problems on the right throughout, set up Shaun Read for a second a matter of minutes later.

Owen Powell soon made it 3-0 from Read's centre and it was the provider who added to Charlton's blues with two more goals to complete his hat-trick after just 19 minutes.

Jon Stickler then made it six at half-time after which the goals continued to flow with player of the match Lavis providing Read and Jamie Clarke with further goals.

Powell's shot was then misjudged the home goalkeeper, Clarke put Badsey into double figures before Magee's superb finish rounded off another sparkling show.
