EIGHT people were arrested on Friday night for offences including drink-driving, criminal damage, assault and disorder.
Dozens of police officers flooded Redditch town centre as part of Operation Christmas Presence, aimed at tackling drink driving, alcohol-fuelled violence and drink spiking during the festive period.
A police spokesman said there was a positive response from the public, who were happy to see officers carrying out high-visibility patrols.
"The licensees and door staff were all very co-operative.
''Officers visited all the pubs and license checks were made but there were no issues," the spokesman added.
On Saturday night, one man was arrested for assault.
