KIDDERMINSTER Cobras go into the winter break still searching for top form in the West Midlands Basketball League Premier Division.

Their most recent results, a 64-56 defeat to Chase Panthers, a 69-55 loss to Great Barr Lasers and an 84-71 win over Black Country Bears, leave them languishing in mid-table.

They have now won three and lost five of their opening eight games.

Cobras got that winning feeling when a strong all-round team display helped them see off the Bears. Man of the match Mark Davies led the way with 24 points.

Scorers: Mark Davis 24, Mark Bonshor 16, John Jackson 14, Roy Francis 13, Ian Marriott 6, Craig Fielder 5, Paul Phelps 2, Mick Partridge 2, Richard Miszkowski 2.

There was less joy against Lasers as Cobras' shooting inaccuracy saw them lose a game that was there for the taking.

Scorers: John Jackson 13, Mark Bonshor 12, Richard Miszkowski 7, Simon Ricketts 7, Paul Phelps 5, Mick Partridge 5, Mark Davis 4, Martin Usherwood 2.

Despite leading for long periods with disciplined offence and aggressive defence, Kidderminster slumped to another defeat at Chase.

Scorers: Bonshor 18, Davis 16, Jackson 5, Ricketts 5, Partridge 4, Craig Fielder 3, Mark Thornhill 3, Roy Francis 2.

Their next game is away at Wolverhampton Warriors on Monday January 10.
