WAGGON A were able to maintain their position at the top of the Banks's Bewdley Darts League with a 5-2 win over The Swan.

After a good start by Waggon, the Swan made a mid-game revival, but Waggon clinched both doubles. Waggon B also won 5-2, over Bewdley Bowling Club, though it was the bowlers who won the first game.

Waggon won the next four games in succession, the bowlers scoring a consolation doubles win.

Another 5-2 scoreline was the result of Bliss Gate's win over Cock and Magpie, despite a determined effort from Neil Harrison and his team. This victory for Bliss helps keep their hopes alive for league success.

The previous week the two leaders met in a head-to-head on Friday, when Waggon A just edged victory over Waggon B 4-3.

The B team stormed to a three-game lead, but the As then levelled the scores.

In the decider, between Nick Edwards and Des Tipper, Edwards gained the upper hand and gave the A team the points, which puts them at the top of the league.

Bliss Gate also had a struggle against Bowling Club, running out 4-3 winners after a very evenly matches, with wins going from side to side. The last doubles decided the outcome. The other matches all scored 5-2.

Great Western beat Rising Sun who's only wins were the singles for Gary Harding and Rob Jones. Cock and Magpie beat Rising Sun B, although the latter had a two-game lead at one stage.

The final result was Black Boy over White Swan, the Boy having stormed into a three-game lead in singles.

The Clifford Dixon Trophy was won by Tim Green, of Bliss Gate, with 125.
