A GOAL at the beginning and end of the first half sealed Cannock's fate as Stourport Hockey Club ladies third team won their friendly fixture 4-0, adding two further scores in the second half.
There were players from all four Stourport Ladies teams, in their final match before Christmas.
Emma Bailey struck from a short-corner in the opening minute, and Kara Sunburk got the final touch into goal. Cannock pressed but never overworked the visiting defence. Stourport camped in the home team's half for much of the time and a short-corner just before half-time saw Fran Long steer a ball into the top right-hand corner of the net.
The second half followed a similar pattern, with the opposition keeper never having a serious save to make.
With five minutes to go Vickie Clarke scored, adding her second with the final whistle seconds away.
The Ladies sides will be returning to action on January 8: Stourport Ladies 1st v Bloxwich (2pm), Nuneaton v Stourport Ladies 2nd, Bloxwich v Stourport Ladies 3rd, Stourport Ladies 4th v Studley (3.30pm).
