EVESHAM United had to settle for a point after drawing 1-1 against visiting Marlow in the Southern League Division One West.

They had to come from behind after Steve Croxford had given the visitors a shock lead three minutes before the break.

A half-time roasting from manager Dave Busst did the trick and within two minutes of the restart, Evesham were level.

After this the Robins threw everything at their visitors, forcing countless corners, but lacked the cutting edge in front of goal to turn the draw into a win.

Since going top of the league, in their last three games, United have picked up just two points and scored only one goal.

They struggled to put their game together in the first-half but still created several decent chances at Common Road.

Dragged

Ravi Sangha dragged his shot wide with only Marlow 'keeper Lee Knott in his way before Grant Pinkney and Neil O'Sullivan saw drives go over.

But, as half-time approached, Marlow went in front when James Prichard's corner fell to Croxford who netted with a stunning volley.

Evesham came out with all guns blazing at the start of the second-half and equalised in their first attack.

Leon Blake dinked a ball through to Sangha on the edge of the box and he netted with a rising shot past Knott.

Evesham dominated the rest of the game but failed to turn their possession into goals.

Marc Burrow should have got this name on the scoresheet but blazed his shot over from just six yards.

And then in the last minute the diving Knott somehow pushed over Sangha's shot when the ball looked destined for the roof of the net.
