PEOPLE are being warned not to buy a certain type of children's pen being sold in Worcestershire after fears they may kill.

Creepy-Crawly Pens have been found to be potentially fatal as the tops of the pens do not meet safety standards regarding the size of the holes in order to prevent choking incidents.

The pens were found in a shop in Stourport-on-Severn by Trading Standards officers as part of a scheduled inspection looking at the safety of toys in the run-up to Christmas.

The pens have a latex jacket, which is shaped into an insect or reptile, and a pen top.

"We have taken possession of the stocks in Stourport to ensure no more reach the public," said Trading Standards enforcement officer Rachel Hallam

"But we would urge people who have purchased one to take it back to the shop they bought it from immediately, or simply remove the tops and throw it in the bin."

Anyone who has seen these products on sale is also asked to call Trading Standards on 01905 765373.

Wrong crisps in Walkers packets

PEOPLE with allergies to milk, wheat and mustard are being warned not to eat certain packets of Walkers ready salted French Fries crisps

Worcestershire Environmental Health and Trading Standards say the packets have been accidentally packed with cheese and onion snacks, meaning that they could have a potentially dangerous effect.

Up to 11,000 wrongly-labelled packets are in circulation, although Walkers has not been able to say where they have been distributed.

Anyone who has bought one of the affected packets, which have a best before date of January 26, 2005 and codes GB303 318d GBC303 319d, should call the company on 0800 254777.
