MALVERN Rugby Club have a must-win Midlands Two West game at Spring Lane tomorrow (Saturday) when they host fellow title-chasers Burton RFC.

With the three top teams all on 17 points, Malvern still head the table on points difference after their disappointing defeat at home to Hinckley last Saturday but Burton still have a game in hand.

Malvern will be hoping for a repeat of the match three weeks ago when they won 18-12 at Burton.

Following the Hinckley defeat, David Robins, director of rugby, conceded that the better side had won on the day.

Robins said: "To lose the rock solid scrimmaging of the skipper Matt Richardson plus the big-hitting defence of Alex Thomas to injury was a double blow. We were also without Eastwood's penetration in the backs, but it was their dominance in the tight which was our undoing.

"We now face another big task with the Burton return match this Saturday and hope that our walking wounded have recovered in time. Burton have equal points to Hinckley and ourselves, so it is up to us to try to see them off and regain the advantage."

Kick-off against Burton is at 2.30pm.
