THE police force covering Wyre Forest has retained an award given for excellence in public service.
West Mercia Constabulary has been re-accredited with the national Charter Mark, a Government initiative intended to raise service levels to local communities.
Chief Constable Paul West described the renewal of the award, first earned by West Mercia in 1999, as "a tremendous achievement".
He added: "Good work is being done on a daily basis by officers and staff, much of which is not recorded in official statistics or reports.
