MORE than 300 tablets that can be dangerous if taken by people who have not been prescribed them have gone missing in Kidderminster town centre.

Among the pills lost last Thursday were 224 darbamzaphene 100mg tablets, prescribed for epilepsy, and 56 felodipine 5mg tablets and 56 doxazosin 2mg tablets, both prescribed for blood pressure problems.

West Mercia Constabulary spokeswoman, Lynne Masters, said the tablets could have side effects for anyone taking them who did not suffer from either of the two conditions.

The darbamzphene could cause nausea, vomiting and confusion, while the other two drugs would lower the blood pressure. All the effects would be increased in children.

Anyone who finds the tablets should hand them in at a pharmacy or contact Kidderminster police on 08457 444888.
