A NEW edition of a Wyre Forest tourism guide will be available next month.

The Wyre Forest Holiday Guide 2004, produced by Wyre Forest District Council, proved popular and a new guide for 2005 is currently being designed.

The guide includes details of accommodation and places to visit and the 2004 Guide was rated "excellent" or "good" by 90 per cent of readers in a survey conducted by the council's tourism section.

Councillor James Dudley, the cabinet member for the environment and economic regeneration, said: "The Wyre Forest Holiday Guide 2004 has proved very popular and useful for planning a trip to the district."

He added: "It has played a key role in attracting visitors, boosting the tourism business. The council is now working to encourage more people to visit the district."

The survey results showed that most visitors to the area planned to stay for two to three nights. Three-quarters of readers wanted to know more about places to visit and around half wanted information about the countryside.
