A TALE of bullying has won a Kidderminster schoolgirl a top poetry prize.
Amy Jordan's poem Stuck In A World You Can't Escape came first in the 2004 Open Poetry Competition for Schools.
The St John's Middle School pupil wrote a poem which told the story of a schoolboy and how "school is no longer a joy for him".
The poem will be published in a book of entries called The Children Express.
The 12-year-old's former English teacher, Jeni Molyneux, oversaw her entry.
She said: "She is a really first rate child and we are all really thrilled. We are really keen to teach poetry with all our kids.
"Lots of children entered and they really had a free choice over what topic they dealt with."
Amy was given £70 prize money and £70 was also awarded to the school.
