A DAMPER has been put on Christmas for a Kidderminster family whose dog disappeared in the same week as a £1,500 trailer was stolen from their home.
The owner, who does not wish to be named, said the disappearance of her 11-month-old lurcher, called Ruby Rocket, had devastated her, her husband and their daughters aged six and 12.
The family, of Low Habberley, has put up a reward for the bitch's safe return.
Ruby's disappearance, between 5.30pm and 6pm on Wednesday, December 8, was "totally unexpected" - which led her to believe her pet had been stolen.
The pet has a short, smooth, champagne-coloured coat with a white flash on her chest and a small scar below one of her eyes.
The large silver Ivor Williams trailer, surrounded by high-sided mesh, was taken between 11.30am and 3.10pm on Friday, after someone rammed the back gate with a car, causing £300 of damage.
A red vehicle was believed to have been used, which would have a damaged indicator.
Police want to trace a man standing near the rear of the property just after 2pm on Friday.
Anyone with information should contact Kidderminster police on 08457 444888.
