LICENSEES of pubs and clubs across Wyre Forest are being warned by police not to serve people who are drunk, in a bid to cut alcohol-fuelled trouble this Christmas.
West Mercia Constabulary officers have teamed up with the district's licensing officers to remind licensees of their legal obligations in not encouraging binge drinking.
Owners and managers of many pubs and clubs have voluntarily withdrawn "all you can drink" or "happy hour" offers, which are believed to contribute to drunken behaviour, including town centre disorder.
The force is launching a high profile campaign - Operation Christmas Presence - to tackle alcohol-related crime and disorder, such as drink driving and spiking drinks.
