THIRTY-seven Midlands youngsters will be competing for places in next month's Divisional Rugby Festival when they take part in the Midlands 16-Group Schools trial at Solihull School on Sunday (1pm).

They have been divided into teams 'A' and 'B' for a 15-a-side game in which the seven named replacements will also play at some stage. The Midlands selectors will use the trial to assess potential for the first of two Divisional Festivals at Castlecroft in Wolverhampton where the Midlands will play London and the South East on January 7 and the South West two days later.

The B team for Sunday's trial includes 15-year-old Leicestershire winger Will Hurrell, the younger brother of Pertemps Bees lock Rob, and lock James Cannon, whose father Vince played in that position for Northampton.
