KIDDERMINSTER schoolboy Jacques Bennett rubbed shoulders with his Aston Villa heroes when he was chosen to be their matchday mascot for their derby game with Birmingham City.
But the Chaddesley Corbett First Endowed school pupil was unable to bring luck to David O'Leary's men as they went down 2-1.
Other than the result, Bennett, who is a member of the Little Villains Club, had a fantastic day at Villa Park.
After changing into his complimentary replica kit he gathered autographs from O'Leary, Juan Pablo Angel, Gareth Barry and Olof Mellberg.
His highlight of the day came when he led Villa out onto the pitch in front of 40,000 supporters and got to have a kick about on the field.
With the match being televised live on Sky and with highlights on BBC's Match of the Day, Bennett also enjoyed spotting himself on the television.
It was a special celebration for the youngster who turns eight on Sunday.
