BEWDLEY Town dominated their home game with Wednesbury Town, running out 5-0 winners to continue their season's success.

Manager Craig Payton expressed his surprise at the poor showing by the visitors, who are lying seventh in the league, and Bewdley expe-cted a harder game.

He said: "Every club will now be looking to beat us. This game could have finished with a hatful of goals with the amount of chances we created".

Jan Mulders scored a goal in the first minute, but was adjudged offside by the officials.

The first goal came on 15 minutes from a half-volley by Neil Turford outside the 18-yard box.

Bewdley squandered the rest of their first half chances but after a half-time talk from Payton, they came out determinedly.

Their wastefulness continued after the break with misses by Harte, Hough and McCloughlin.

But on 61 minutes a corner from McCloughlin came to top scorer L Pountney, and he fired the home side into a two-goal lead.

Bewdley substituted Potter for Stewart, and eight minutes later Harte and Stewart worked together, Harte riding a tackle from Edge to slide the ball to McCloughlin, who slid the ball past the helpless goalkeeper, Bullivant.

Further goals came from substitute Williams on 74 minutes, and Harte again on 90 minutes, to secure this comfortable victory for Bewdley.
