Evesham Utd Ladies 0,
Droitwich Spa 3
SUNDAY'S Kidderminster Charity Cup game saw United unable to field a full-strength side due to illness and work commitments.
Droitwich dominated the early proceedings and Mandy Upton in the home goal made a number of fine saves.
However, in the 27th minute, poor defending from a corner gave Suzannah Lane time and space to lash home a loose ball and give Droitwich the lead.
United had to wait until six minutes before half-time for their first serious attempt at goal but Tori Southern's shot was saved at the foot of a post.
Southern almost pulled out an equaliser five minutes later but her shot just curled wide.
United went further behind two minutes into the second half when a tame shot from Kat Mer-edith found its way past Upton.
With nothing to lose, centre back Charlene McLoughlin moved forward to join Southern in attack and United started to gain some sort of control.
A shot on the hour from Sou-thern was again just wide and seven minutes later, McLou-ghlin, running clear of the defence, saw her left-foot strike come back off the crossbar.
After dominating for most of the second half, United were harshly penalised six minutes from time when Droitwich were awarded a dubious penalty after the ball struck a hand in side the area. Leigh Roberts made it 3-0.
McLoughlin went close in the final minute but it wasn't Evesham's day.
They are back on league duty on Sunday when they visit Kidderminster Harriers Reser-ves for a 2pm start.
The ladies are still on the lookout for new players and anyone interested can contact Alan Padfield on 07989 983160 or ring the club on 01386 442303.
