Littleton 0, Thimblemill 2
SATURDAY'S bad-tempered affair saw Littleton lose out to the resurgent visitors who have made 15 new signings over the past two weeks and now look a more than useful outfit.
Littleton made the early running and almost took the lead on five minutes when a mistake by Anthony McManus let in Jon Gregory whose angled drive was beaten away by the keeper.
A similar fate awaited a shot by Paul Jones as the hosts pressed forward but the visitors were beginning to find their way and Daniel McIntosh went close on a couple of occasions.
However, there were far too many niggly fouls and too much arguing for the game too develop as Thimblemill's feisty midfield began to take control.
The game turned immediately after half-time with the award of a penalty that was hotly contested by Littleton, in their view ball striking hand not hand striking ball. After the commotion had died down, McManus converted.
On the hour, a super shot from Stephen Brown hit the inside of a post, hit the keeper in the back on to the other post and out to safety!
This, and the fact that Thimblemill added their second through Benjamin a minute later, seemed to convince Littleton that it wasn't to be their day and they rarely threatened again.
The visitors almost increased their lead with Adi Pritchard in the home goal making several late stops to keep the scoreline down.
Littleton are at home on Saturday to Kenilworth (2).
