MORE than 250 people were tested for contact with a range of drugs during a police blitz on a Kidderminster nightclub.
Officers used drugs screening equipment at Redwoods between 9pm and 2am on December 3 and 4.
Of the 258 people tested as part of the ongoing Operation Barley, 10 were searched and one was cautioned for possession of amphetamines.
The test equipment, first used in August, analyses a sample taken from a hand swab and indicates if the person has been in contact with drugs such as heroin, cocaine, speed, ecstasy or cannabis.
A positive result provides grounds for the person to be searched for controlled drugs.
Sgt Louise Meeson, of Kidderminster police, said: "Operation Barley demonstrates that both the police and Kidderminster licensees are serious about reducing drug use in licensed premises. It was positively received and we would like to thank the managers, staff and customers."
