A talented young musician from the King's School Worcester has appeared on stage alongside one of the world's most celebrated flautists, Sir James Galway.
Olivia Crowe, from Rous Lench, near Evesham, successfully auditioned for a place in the Flute Choir which accompanied Sir James, and his wife ,Lady Jeanne Galway, at the James Galway and Friends concert at the Birmingham Symphony Hall.
The 12-year-old, who is currently studying for her Grade Six flute exam and also plays piano and saxophone, had to memorise six variations on traditional Christmas carols, which were accompanied by the London Mozart Players chamber orchestra.
Olivia's mother, Carol, said her daughter was very excited when she discovered she had won a place in the choir for the one-night performance.
"The whole family went to see her and cheer her on and everyone was very proud of her," she added.
