POLICE and road safety officers in Warwickshire are using some unusual ways of tackling the drink driving problem this Christmas.
They include handing out fortune cookies at supermarkets with messages predicting the consequences of drinking and driving as well as a series of seasonal radio and bus-back adverts.
Chief superintendent Jon Bond said: "Combating drinking and driving is a priority for Warwickshire police 365 days of the year but it is timely with the approach of the festive season to remind drivers and riders of their responsibilities.
"Don't make Christmas miserable for anyone. Don't drink and drive."
