BROMSGROVE Swimming Club overcame a lack of practice time in the pool to finish fourth in round three of the Speedo League Division Two on Saturday.

Closure of the Dolphin Centre for construction work has meant that Bromsgrove have only had limited time to practice.

Despite the set back Bromsgrove's swimmers produced some excellent times and places in Cheslyn Hay.

Matt Hooper came third in the men's 4x1 medley, while Lisa Harrison produced a strong time after stepping in at the last minute to race in women's event.

The under-15s 4x2 relay team of Fran Carlson, Amy Wright, Loren Harrison and Emily McNally won their event in two minutes and 1.84 seconds.

Bromsgrove's men's 4x2 medley team of Simon Smith, Stuart Corbett, Neil Goodman and Matt Hooper were also victorious.

Rebecca Alton, Lucie Edmunds, Emily McNally, Lisa Harrison, Fran Carlson and Laura Ashford won the ladies 6x2 open relay, while the under-13s 3x2 freestyle quartet came second.

Victoria Law, Alice Farmiloe, Dan Scarr and Katy Masters all finished third in their races.

Simon Smith won the open backstroke and Stuart Corbett was victorious in the breastroke event.

Lisa Harrison (breastroke), Alton (freestyle), Edmunds (backstroke) and Laura Harrison (butterfly) all finished runners-up in their races.

William Newton was second in the under-11s backstroke and Richie Edmunds was second in the under-13s backstroke.

Anthony Shipton was runner-up in the under-15s butterfly and then teamed up with Ben Doran Tom Mansell and Kevin Wall in the 4x2 medley relay to finish third.
