I'VE noticed most of your letters only seem to make only one point so I thought I'd break the trend.

Firstly, I find it annoying the opening hours of The Kingfisher Centre and the individual shops aren't listed on a mounted plaque next to the doors or written in the glass.

On a Sunday, some shops open at 10, 10.30, 11 and some don't open at all.

To avoid wasting time guessing when the doors open, a clear sign would be of little cost or effort.

Secondly, when the refreshing idea of encouraging recycling with glass and paper boxes issued to houses was introduced many months ago, I was glad to see council tax and councillors could equal developments for the town.

But apparently only some houses are allowed them as the council can't afford the workers or transport to do the weekly pick-up.

Well, staff wouldn't be a problem (certainly a more appealing job than collecting smelly bin bags).

So, the reason I have to walk to the town hall to drop off my week's jars and bottles is because the council can't afford a truck?

Surely this could be discussed and explained at a forthcoming meeting.
