GOLD 'N'BLACK met rock'n'roll when the Bromsgrove taxi firm held a grand opening for their new branch.
Rockin' Berries founder member, Geoff Turton, got out his guitar and entertained a crowd in New Road, Rubery, on Friday.
"We had a lot of people there," said Ian Hayden, one of the taxi firm's partners, "Geoff played a few songs and they sang along. It went very well."
Mr Hayden said he knew Geoff, from Stoke Prior, and had asked him as a favour. He was one of the founder members of the group who had a string of hits in the 1960s, including He's In Town, which got to number three in the charts
The group added comedy to their stage act and he still played with them until a few years ago.
Mr Hayden said the taxi firm had five cabs at its new site and had decided to expand following the success of its 40-strong fleet in Hanover Street.
