SO the Government "wants Worcestershire schools to become the focal point of communities, by providing a wider range of services", in exchange for "some additional funding".
Is this their obscure way of tempting Worcestershire schools with a carrot of extra cash, to make up for the shortfall of what our schools fail to receive, compared to many other comparable shire counties, thanks to the government's inequity of funding allocation for our county?
What we really need is not to turn our schools into glorified babysitting services, where working parents can leave their children from dawn till dusk, but fair, comparable funding in the first place, so we can provide the basic essentials and resources for our children's education.
HELEN DONOVAN,
Evesham.
