Droitwich Spa Reserves 2 Shipston Excelsior 1

SPA made a winning return in their first home game since October on Saturday, after a long sequence of away games.

After six games on their travels Droitwich maintained their excellent form in the Midland Combination Division Three.

Rob Bell opened the scoring in the first minute, when a hesistant Shipston goalkeeper failed to react to his shot.

Captain Chris Everett then extended his side's lead by slotting a left foot shot around the 'keeper.

Droitwich experienced a nervous few minutes after their opponents pulled back a goal.

The Reserves take on Northfield Town Reserves at home on Saturday (2pm kick off).

Droitwich will be without striker Jake Elvins for the next two months after he broke his leg in Wednesday's game at Kenilworth Town Reserves.

Elvins' injury, sustained when he collided with Town's 'keeper, forced the game to be called off with the score at 1-1.
