REDDITCH Ladies finished their pre-Christmas league programme in fine style with three points after a 4-1 demolition of Harborne 2nds.

Two late goals from Redditch captain Jo Stafford and Lianne Cooper made sure of the rout.

Redditch moved the ball with pace and had Harborne pinned back for long stretches of the first half mainly down to Claire Steadman and Emma Manders work on the right wing.

Olivia Nicholson scored the only goal of the first half when she latched on to a loose ball.

The Bromsgrove Road visitors came out fighting in the second half but the Redditch defence weathered the storm and held together through a particularly sticky ten minute spell before pushing on to show their true class.

Liz Thomson doubled the advantage after a Steadman cross found Nicholson whose shot found Thomson clear at the far post.

Stafford then scored with a fierce shot into the corner from the edge of the circle and then Lianne Cooper made it four with a first time strike after Anna Stafford had outpaced the visitors defence and whipped in a dangerous cross.

Harborne sneaked a consolation goal in the final minute but it was too little too late.
