Severn Trent Water has won an award for its efforts in helping its employees improve their health and well-being.
The Capita Health Solutions award for Managing Health at Work was given to the company by TV funny man Graham Norton at the 2004 Personnel Today Awards in London - the industry equivalent of the Oscars.
Neil Budworth, Severn Trent Water's health and safety manager, said the company believed that healthy employees are more likely to be happy and productive.
"We do a number of things to help staff improve their health and well-being both inside and outside of work, including providing on-line health assessments, and holding a library of information to help employees make lifestyle choices," he added.
"One of the first things that we did was to give all 5,000 of our employees a water bottle to help prevent dehydration and improve general health and well being."
Severn Trent Water employs more than 5,000 people across the Midlands and delivers water and sewerage services to eight million customers.
