SICK and disadvantaged children from across the West Midlands will be all aboard The Severn Valley Railway tomorrow as a traditional festive treat.
The unique Santa Special steam train will take 200 youngsters from Kidderminster to Highley and back again thanks to the generosity of the Variety Club of Great Britain.
Each child will even receive a present from Father Christmas to make the day complete.
"Trips like this really personify the season of goodwill as most people would like it to be," said SVR's general manager Alun Rees.
"For us there's a certain satisfaction in being able to do something which helps make a difference to those less fortunate than us. We are glad to be playing a part."
Central Television presenter Llewella Bailey will ensure the fun keeps on track by hosting the day.
The variety club has raised more than £10m in the past decade, including buying 12 "sunshine" coaches to take youngsters on outings.
