A MEDIAEVAL banquet was recreated yesterday in the historic setting of the Commandery to celebrate the first birthday of the Worcestershire Young Archaeologists Club.
The TV archaeologist Julian Richards, famous for his part in the television show Meet the Ancestors, was at the historic 15th Century setting in Sidbury, Worcester, for a feast held in the club's honour in the museum's Great Hall.
He was dressed, like all other guests, in the traditional clothes of the 1400s.
Sheena Payne, the city council's historic environment record officer and secretary of the club, said the setting could not be more perfect for the club's 80 members, all aged between nine and 16.
"Our first year has been a great start for the club," said Ms Payne. "We have a growing number of very keen young people, all with a deep interest in archaeology and Julian Richard's presence will be the culmination of a very successful year."
Anyone interested in joining the club should call 01905 361824.
