THE continuing problem of vandalism was highlighted this week when paint stripper was thrown over two cars in what one of the owners called a "heartbreaking" attack.

A Volkswagen Beetle and Mitsubishi Shogun 4x4 were damaged by yobs, who struck overnight on Saturday in Tomkinson Drive, Kidderminster.

Tina Moore, who bought the £13,800 Beetle with her boyfriend, Kieron Williams, said: "It is heartbreaking when you want something so bad and you wake up with that. I sobbed when I saw it. You work so hard for something and then someone comes along and spoils it all."

She estimated the damage to her car alone would cost £2,500 to repair.

The Shogun belonged to her father, David, said Miss Moore, 28.

Miss Moore, whose boyfriend lives with the family at the house, said she could not understand why anyone would want to attack the vehicles.

Other vehicles have been damaged in similar incidents this year. Four cars in Sutton Road, Kidderminster were damaged with a substance believed to be paint stripper over three nights in March.

Paint stripper was poured over a car in Kidderminster, causing between £500 and £1,000 worth of damage, in June.

Kidderminster police are investigating the incident. Anyone with information should call 08457 444888.
