IT will be a reunion of familiar faces when Evesham United entertain Worcester City in the Worcestershire FA Senior Cup second round tonight (7.45).

The respective managers, Phil Mullen and John Barton, are long-standing friends, while United assistant boss Paul Davies takes on the club he left only last month.

The added attraction of two sides in fine form should make for a fascinating battle at Common Road.

United boss Phil Mullen said: "I have known John an awful long time -- in our teens we played together for the same Sunday team.

"They are in a good vein of form at the moment but we are not doing too badly ourselves."

Mullen believes Davies will be relishing the chance to face his former side.

"He has done well ever since he has come to Evesham both on and off the pitch, and is in a bit of good form himself with four league goals in four games."

City will not be taking the game lightly as they seek an eighth successive win in all competitions.

Manager Barton said: "It is another cup competition and you enter them with the aim of winning them. Tonight is another hurdle towards possibly achieving some silverware a the end of the season."

City stick with the squad that won 1-0 at Stalybridge Celtic in the FA Umbro Trophy on Saturday, although Barton could reshuffle the starting line-up.

Mullen adds Phil Preedy and former City player Trevor Whittington to the side that won 5-0 at Bedworth in the Dr Martens League Western Division on Saturday.
